1. What We Collect

Paycheck Control collects only the financial data you enter directly into the app — including paycheck amounts, bill details, and transaction records. If you choose to link a bank account, we retrieve your transaction and account data through our Plaid integration. Payday and bill reminders are sent via email to your registered account address; if you provide a phone number, we store it for future SMS reminder capabilities. We store your account email and name for authentication purposes.

2. How We Use Your Data

Your data is used solely to power the app's features: budgeting calculations, bill tracking, savings projections, and AI-assisted financial advice. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data, financial data, or mobile information/SMS opt-in data with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Message frequency varies depending on account activity. Message and data rates may apply.

3. Data Storage & Security

All data is stored securely on Base44's cloud infrastructure with industry-standard encryption in transit and at rest. Access to your data is restricted to your authenticated account only.

4. Device Permissions

Paycheck Control may request the following device permissions:

• Notifications — Payday and bill reminders are sent via email to your registered account address. This is optional and you can disable it at any time in Settings.
• Phone Number — If you provide a phone number, it is stored on your account for future SMS reminder capabilities.

We do not access your camera, microphone, contacts, location, or any other device sensor.

Mobile information will not be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties, excluding aggregators and providers of the text message services.

5. Third-Party Services & Data Processing

Paycheck Control relies on the following trusted third-party providers to deliver key features:

• Plaid — When you link a bank account, Plaid securely connects to your financial institution and transmits transaction and balance data to the app. Plaid handles your bank credentials directly; Paycheck Control never sees or stores your bank login password.
• Stripe — Subscription payments, including free trials and paid plans, are processed by Stripe. Stripe handles your payment method details; we do not store full card numbers on our servers.
• AI Providers (OpenAI and Anthropic) — To provide automated budgeting insights, financial tracking, and personalized summaries, the app securely transmits text inputs and anonymized financial transaction data to these providers via secure API endpoints. Our providers are contractually prohibited from using your personal or financial data to train public models. Explicit, active user consent is required before any data transmission to these AI processors occurs.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal or financial data with third parties for marketing purposes.

6. AI Financial Assistant

The in-app Finance Assistant uses your budget data to generate personalized responses. Conversations are processed via a third-party AI provider. Do not share sensitive personal identifiers (e.g., SSN, bank account numbers) in the chat.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time. If you request explicit account deletion through the app or by contacting us, all corresponding tokens, account balances, and historical transaction records retrieved from financial data providers will be permanently and securely purged from our production databases within 30 days.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
